highly doubt it.  Its kind of a 90's marketing scheme.  Watch dumb and dumber every scene has an "over the top" advertising for an item... at&t was the worse in it.  we will probably start seeing sony in a lot of other places coming up.

 

I'm sure as in the UK with Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea etc fans in the USA are very passionate about their team and would definately be swayed (especially if they have not made up their mind between PS3 and Xbox360) if a rival team they 'hated' was seen as a supporter of a particular console.

I'm not sure where you're coming from with with the Dumb and Dumber reference but there isn't the rivalry between one movie and another like there is between sports teams.
