Yes and possibly no. Halo will most certainly outperform COD on week 1 sales because first week is when the loyal fanbase will buy the game. Much like Halo 2 and 3, there will be many adopters solely because of the name of the product. I don't expect the halo 3 prologue to be as popular as the full game so it is entirely possible for Halo 3: ODST and COD: MW2(xbox 360 only) to perform nearly identical on charts. It really could go either way but when you go by gameplay value I think COD: MW2 will have a better appeal to a larger group of players. So my prediction:
Week 1 sales:
-Halo 3: ODST outperforms COD: MW2 (Including all platform sales)
Week 2 sales:
-Halo 3 ODST performs equally to COD: MW2 (all platform sales)
-Halo 3 ODST outperforms COD: MW2 (360 sales only
Week 3-5 sales:
-Halo 3: ODST performs identically to COD: MW2 (360 only sales)
- Across all platforms COD:MW2 outperforms Halo 3: ODST from here on out
Week 6 and beyond:
-COD MW2 (xbox 360 only sales) will outperform Halo 3: ODST from here on out.
*Assuming all things constant (i.e. bundled sales possibly, add-on content release, special edition release, selling price, anything that could abnormally skew sales)
