MMORPGs are fun because of the social aspects of the game.
If you just play alone all the time, or only with real-life friends, you won't enjoy the game. It's all about getting out there and participating in the world, being a part of it all, along with everyone else who plays.
The addiction comes from the desire to do well in dungeons, or player-vs-player activities. It's all about playing with other people, that's what makes them fun.
And, anyone who may have never played a MMORPG, do not come in here and bash them. These games are really something you can't understand unless you've experienced them.
