Just by checking wikipedia I can see GG was formed from another studio. However the other titles were for GB so i think considering it a fresh start is fair enough.
Shellshock was their first game though with KZ following. KZ was definetly an improvement but there was such little time between them it is hard to say for sure if they could apply what they learnt from SS to KZ.
I have always wondered though why Sony wanted to continue the franchise. It doesn't have a very good rep, no one is following the story or characters. I dunno I just think people would be far more positive if KZ2 was a brand new game instead of a sequel.
It's not like there were huge numbers of people foaming at the mouth for a KZ sequel, the hype for the game is based on graphics and gameplay. None of it on story or characters, so why not just have started with new characters and a story? The thing KZ series lacks is any sort of lead man/icon. Seems strange they wouldn't try and address that. I think the game would be able to perform so much beter in sales with a fresh start and would receive so much less flak.
Anyway lot of good stuff in the interview. Great to hear they have been getting help from Sony and other PS3 devs.
