Why would they do this? One of the limitations for the Xbox 360 as a media centre is that you have to find and pick up a controller to go alongside your TV remote if you want to browse the service. Why not have an intuitive interface that you can use with simple gestures?

The Xbox 360 is coming into its 5th holiday season, it needs something new to keep interest in the machine up and it has to be something which is unique to the machine itself. Going completely hands free is one of the possible next steps to the Wiimote interface and it does open up a few more possibilities for alliances with other consumer electronics or service companies such as TV or Cable companies.
