This happened to me with Forza 2. My gamertag was on another 360 when I got the achievements and then recovered my gamertag on my new 360 and all the achievements were gone when I signed into x-live. The weird thing is though that I was able to unlock about 6 achievements in my first race because the data was still there for the game which is what gives the achievements, so I didn't get it as bad as you, it's a shit shit world we live in, it's a good thing MS doesn't own it.
