^I doubt MS or Sony won't want to achieve Wii-like sales if the Wii hadn't existed. They had to do that with casual games like the ones I mentioned above. Sure, the pricing might not be as low as now, but a significant number of casuals will still be tempted due to the relative cheapness of the 360 when compared to the PS3.
The combined userbase of the PS3 and 360 won't go up by 46 mill. that's for sure, but certainly it will go up for more than half of that.
