Is It Justifiable Comparing The Wii To PS360?

Certainly casuals would buy the PS3/360 for games like Singstar, Lips, Buzz, Scene it etc. just like how many casuals picked up the PS2 for similar games.

 

 Well, first of all, both x360 and PS3 had price cuts since launch, but haven´t touched the demand for wiis. That´s a very good sign two products are not competing, when price changes don´t affect the other product sales.

The price had a great deal to do with Ps2 success among casuals. The wii price is actually irrelevant, believe me. In the begging it had it´s importance, but after it reached the popular status it has now, it´s prety clear it won´t need a price cut for at least one more year.

You really believe someone that doesnt care much about gamming in the first place will 1- know that are those games for the HD consoles 2- shed $400 + game price for it? My dad will spent more than $400 for a wii+wii fit cause my mom want it. My siter want a wii for MKII and galaxy and probably would eventually convice him into buying one and is probable that he will try at least wii sports.

The only gamer in the story is my sister and she´s mostly into sonic type of games( although she likes a fps and GTA now and then) and wouldn´t buy a console out of her own money. Like I said, this is not unique, I believe this is the main fuel behind wii success, people that thougth that video games were a waste of time and money actually buying one.
