An add-on a'la HD DVD would be easy, but really if MS support BR they will hasten its adoption, something they clearly don't want to do, and they also risk making PS3 seem more attractive as new purchasers might well compare 360 & BR add-on to PS3 and figure why have it external?
I'm sure it would sell very well to existing 360 owners, but I really doubt MS would want to risk the potential negatives with regard to getting more new 360 owners and pushing DD over physical media for existing owners.
If 360 was way, way ahead and PS3 truly dead then MS would probably push out a BR external drive, but I'd be hugely surprised if they did so in the current competitive market.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
