On the PS2, it got lost among the shuffle. The PSP needed gems after dropping the ball, so it stood out more.
As for the Wii, of course the fanboys cheered because they stole an exclusive. The rest of the Nintendo fans were cheering because it was one of the first franchises given to the Wii, when third parties were basically flipping the Wii the bird.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
