SDXC, possible format for the next gen?

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. I hope they go solid state for games in the future (it would revolutionize digital downloads, potentially) but we're probably looking at at least one more generation with disc drives, if just for backwards compatibility.

Duh, completely forgot about BC. I love BC but Sony set a precedent that you can sell a system without BC and sell well. XBOXes BC is limited at best and the masses seem to be ok with it, I can easily see Sony and MS dropping it completely.

Backwards compatibility could be easily achieved by selling a pluggable DVD/BR reader separately for those who want BC. I would probably pay $50 for such an add-on.
