It simple. Its because sony had turned everyone into mindless playstation drones at this point and all thery wanted was the playstation 2 with most of them knowing next to nothing about it and this despite the fact that the ps2 had possibly the worst launch line up ever.
Its a real shame and it still brings tears to my eyes as IMHO the dreamcast was and still is the most underated console ever.
