Man, I fully agree. Beyond that, Kojima wanted to only work with one platform to optimize his vision of MGS4. It just so happens that MGS has been tied to the Playstation from the beginning and he felt, at least in the case of MGS4, that it should stay exclusive. IMO, smart move and I also agree that another, exclusive-to-PS3, Metal Gear title would sell fine and be nothing but profit for Konami, especially considering by then the PS3's userbase would significantly higher.

Exactly would have been a completely different story if MGS sold any less. But it didnt and I think that the current formula of MGS that Kojima has crafted over the years has been perfected and shouldnt be tampered with.
