Actually, Iraq, Iran, and North Korea were the "original" axis of evil.  Venezuela and Cuba were later tagged the "axis of evil" as well (by rep. Henry Hyde I think).  The link I posed is only loosely tied to it, but I gotta run up to my warehouse real quick, and I'll find and post the original link later when I get back.

Really, the "axis of evil" comment is a mute point to the overall discussion anyway (unless you and I are going to start nitpicking each and every point again?)  The real point is, that Iran and Venezuela have been increading military tries, and Venezuela has spoken to Iran about the desire to go nuclear at some point...

Yes, it is a moot point because Bush did not tag Venezuela as part of the Axis of Evil. You even said you think a former GOP Congressman (RIP) is responsible for labeling them as a member of a possible Western-Hemispheric Axis of Evil. I believe Hyde also included Brazil in his axis...which is slightly befuddlling.  

Oh no, the CIA has stated they believe that Venezuela is supporting FARC? That does not bode well for the validity of such assertions...In all seriousness, Colombia has seized laptops and other such equipment that link Venezuela and FARC. It is possible that rouge elements of the Venezuelan military are supplying FARC and Chavez is unaware, but I find that unlikely considering Chavez has personal contact with FARC leadership under the guise of "humanitarian assistance." 

 

 

I think I am a little confused in what you are saying, but if you were asserting that Henry Hyde was somewhat of a crack pot, then we on the same page.... otherwise, explain what you mean?

I'm a little confussed on the the FARC comment as well.  Are you saying that you think that Chavez/Venezuela are supporting the FARC as the CIA & Columbian Feds have said, or are you doubting these assertions?

I dont believe anything the CIA or the colombian goverment have to say, they, especially the CIA, tend to make some political moves under the table wjen left wing goverments are involved. I dont trust Chavez a lot either, hes known for being crazy and saying all the things he thinks without considering the consecuences. Anyway its known that Chavez supports what the FARCs are doing concerning being against the colombian goverment, he shares their idiology, but I doubt he supports the kidnapping of people and its doubtful that he gives weapons to them, but surely he makes things easier for weapons to go in to the territory.

He dislikes Colombia, for the reason that colombia is known in southamerica for being the lap dog of the US in the zone, so its easy to say he dislikes anything concerning the US and the things they support nad the way they make their foreign policy(which I dont like too BTW), thats why he expelled the Israelly embassor for the the conflict in Gaza to support the palestinians as the US is supporting Israel. But I doubt he has any intention to bomb the US unless the US does anythig to provoke this action like invading some country under the "protection" of Venezuela like Ecuador or Bolivia. So I take this case and all the friendship with Russia and such a way to "balance" the influences in the world, Its like the cold war again but less,..., well, yuou know what I mean.

I also consider this axis of evil a very stupid term as someone could consider the US as evil as Venezuela. I simply think there are two countries with very stupid goverments and their people have to suffer for their stupidity. The block the US has on Cuba is childish and really hurtfull for the people there, and the way Chavez does all these things against the US goverment ignoring the way the people in Venezuela think is childish too and it lacks the responsibility he should have as the countries president. Here in Chile wallmat arrived and because of the bolck the Us has on Cuba they cant sell products from there, and let me tell you thats a very stupid thing to do.

Somebody should tell these people that the coldwar is over, and even though I believe it healthier for the world to have world powers that differ in some aspects, leading it to this point of conflict makes bad to the world.

Oh, and the US should just let Iran develop nuclear technology, just as they do.
