I have seen this crap quite often, and it has to be said. Grow the hell up if you have been here for more then a month you understand the concept of implied. Everyone here plays on consoles so that is the common frame of reference. A smaller percentage use portable devices, and I doubt anyone here is actually a portable only player. Do we need long winding disclaimers? Can't we all just use you know common sense. I wonder is that too much to ask. Basically this is either about trolling, or being an asshole. Stop trying to derail threads. You knew what the original poster was talking about.
Now to the titles listed I have heard Pokemon referred to as a role playing game. I am not entirely sure the series qualifies. The boundaries have blurred, and it seems to be closer to the other side of the equation. I know many of you feel a twist in your gut when you try to jam the name in there like your doing something unholy. Honestly games like this need a new genre specification. The are closer to cock fighting then they are to say a Final Fantasy.
Zelda is not a role playing game. Nobody decently conversant in gaming has referred to it as a role playing series in over ten years. The fact that the character has a sword and a shield does not make it a role playing game. This is an action series pure and simple. There is no debate to be had. Unless you want to consider all games that involve some character improvement as role playing games. In which case the vast majority of games are role playing games. Even Halo 3 was a role playing game. Do we want this?
