I own a Wii but will be getting a PS3 shortly, so you can consider me a next gen multiconsole owner. The PS3 is at a price point where it's a large investment, but might not have the games to justify the price, so it's often a pair to something like the Wii (most commonly).

The reason the PS2 was so successful was because it could sell to those who could only afford one system. Poor families in all kinds of different countries could only get one console, and the PS2 has all kinds of games, especially for kids.

If the PS3 can emulate the PS2 like that, it will have this generation by its haunches.
