Indeed. God of War III is Sony's "Triforce of Power" in America for Q4 2009. Now if they can just manage to link that with their "Triforce of Wisdom" in Europe (Gran Turismo 5) along with their "Triforce of Courage" in Japan (Final Fantasy XIII) with a $100 price drop in all territories, Q4 2009 will be an epic time for the PS3.

God of war 3 is not even close to the titles you mentioned , it will not help ps3 sales at all.

It's by far the least impactful of the three games, but if you think God of War III's release will have an insignificant impact of PS3 sales then you're sadly mistaken.

To put it in perspective, God of War III will have a bigger impact than any game currently announced to be coming to 360 including Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Ninja Blade, Alan Wake, Ninety-Nine Nights II, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction. The only unannounced upcoming 360 exclusives that are even in the same ballpark as God of War III as far as selling systems is concerned are Forza Motorsport 3 and Mass Effect 2, and both of those are still quite a ways under GOWIII.

Simply put, if God of War III won't "help PS3 sales at all", then Microsoft is in big trouble because they don't have a single game coming this year that will sell more systems than GOWIII.

You have to be on some serious jesus juice  to believe that the 3 games bolded will not sell far more systems than gow 3 . The god of war series was never a system seller and there is no reason that it will start now.

EDIT : The J man just realized that you just said that  a HALO game will be an inferior system seller than gow and for that your post should be taken with a grain of salt.

Star Ocean has NEVER been anything remotely CLOSE to a system seller. It's not even in the same league as the God of War series. Furthermore, if you can ask online and find me more than 20 people who will be purchasing a 360 for either Halo 3: ODST or Halo Wars, I will be surprised. Halo 3 was one of the biggest video game releases ever and it has sold over 8 million units worldwide. It has COMPLETELY saturated the 360 market for the Halo franchise. Do you honestly think that anyone will buy a 360 for a spin-off and a expansion of the game that almost 1 in every 3 360 owners already owns?
