One time in 3rd grade some asshole tried to trick me into thinking I could get a 1-up if I jumped directly on Bowser's nose. He told me that I had to time it just right, and it might take a whole bunch of tries to do it right, but I should just keep trying. I saw through his scheme, and I've NEVER tried it.
More recently, I guess I'd go with actual battles that actually took place in Japanese history with giant enemy crabs.
