What were your overall expectations around the Wii and PS3's launch?

I thought the PS3 would destroy everyone. Not to the same degree the PS1 and PS2 did, but still a substantial victory.

Even into 2007 I was still holding out significant hope this would happen and almost sold my Xbox 360 to purchase a PS3 with Lair.

I thought the Wii would make Nintendo a small profit ala the Gamecube and they would bow out in the 8th generation.

I never would have conceived the current situation, in which the Wii may become the highest selling console of all time, the Xbox 360 will likely outsell the PS3 for at least the next three years, and the maximum reasonable lifetime expectation for PS3 sales is 70 million, and that is optimistic.
