| Hyams said: Selnor, dude, calm down. Methinks you're getting a little worked up. I'll go through your points one by one, as you seem to be a little confused by what I meant. The new trailer was entirely using the game engine. Entirely, completely, wait try this THE only part that was CGI or masked over or had non game engine effects were the logos. Is that clearer. I never said otherwise. I just said that its been downsampled (rendered at one resolution and then shrunk down to a smaller one) which reduces aliasing. This isn't an insult; all videogame screenshots go through this - Uncharted 2, Gears 2, MGS4, GT5. All their screenshots were downsampled too. And for the record I wasnt trying to put Heavy Rain down. In fact look back through the thread. I said that my 3 fave graphics games in 2009 was Heavy Rain, Alan Wake and Kingdom Under Fire 2. Then Cura came in all like "Alan Wake is pathetic compared to Heavy Rain." Using and talking about graphics shown in 2006 of Alan Wake. I never claimed you weren't impressed by Heavy Rain. In fact, I was well aware of the fact. Also so you know Remedy have said the 360 version is looking the same albeit in 720p. Basically the PC version with lower res. I've been keeping an eye on this game, because it interests me, so I'm almost certain they never said that. All they've said regarding the difference is that the 360 version is rendered at a lower resolution, they never claimed that there were identical in every other aspect. Like I said, we don't know what the difference is, but I highly doubt it'll be as close to the PC version as you suspect. At the very, I imagine the PC version will boast better AA and lighting effects. Considering the 360 version has had 4 years dev time and M$ help, it will very likely push the 360 the furthest it's been yet. Well that and KUF2. I dunno. Long development times don't always equal great graphics; see: Haze. KUF2 looks very good too, but I'd be strangely dissapointed if a multiplat title turned out to be the best looking 360 game. ------ Hope that cleared things up. ^_^ |
Sorry, I didnt mean to have a go. :)
I do agree the PC version will look better.
Regarding KUF2. No platforms besides PC have been confirmed. The fact that every single KUF game and it's spinoffs have all been exclusive to Xbox, makes it very plausible that it will be Xbox exclusive. But until it's announced we cant say it's exclusive to anyhing other than PC's. If I remember rightly KUF2 was announced as Next Gen platforms. Exactly the same as Alan Wake was first announced until M$ showed it at E3 as Windows and 360.
But regardless. Heavy Rain, KUF2 and Alan Wake are the games the impress me the most so far. :)
