The holidays are the most important time of the year.  The Wii is up 80% year over year for the holidays.  The 360 is up 47%.  The PS3 is down 15%.

If you want to claim that as some sort of victory, go right ahead.  You would have to be delusional though.

What about Resistance 2, Little Big Planet,  Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, MGS4... And PS3 outsold 360  this year EVERYWHERE, ANYTIME but not in USA. And PS3 outsold 360 in USA in June. Only the last two months were bad for PS3. PS3 sales DESTROYED 360 sales in Japan. PS3 sales massacred 360 sales in Europe till November.Only thing good for 460 this year is price cut and Gears Of War 2. THAT IS ALL.

 

In the end, 360 still outsold PS3 and that's what counts.

In a basketball game, you can have a big lead at the end of third quater but one horrible 4th quater loses the game. It is still a loss no matter how well you did in the first 3 quaters of the game. That's what happened to PS3.

You can't compare basketball game and console sales. for EXAMPLE: PS3 outsells 360 till November 6 million to 3 million and then till January next year 360 outsells PS3 3 million to 1 million. the PS3 would still be a winner.And this chart up here is WEEKLY sales of PS3

 

Unfortunately, Snake, your numbers are way off.  The PS3 in its entire first 8 months of 2008 only outsold the 360 by 1.2 million.  Then the 360 outsold the PS3 at the end of the year by nearly 2.2 million in order to outsell the PS3 almost a million in total yearly sales.  His basketball analogy was spot on.  The PS3 was not a sales winner regardless of how you compare it.  You should get used to knowing the facts, and not just rant with completely flawed logic or you won't last long here.

I was giving a false example, i know my numbers were false i didn't want to open another window and google the sales number in 2008, i was just telling you you can't compare console sales and basketball game. And how about link or source for those numbers you have posted? And comparing system which is on market for 3-4 years with system which is on market for 2 years in sales is kinda sad. why don't you guys compare PSP and 360 in sales?

 

Snake, I'm not sure if you realized this or not... you're new so I'll explain:  This website you are on right now reading this thread, tracks sales.  The numbers are from this very website.  Go to Chartz>Hardware Table, and set your parameters.

Also, he was not "comparing" console sales to basketball.  He was giving what is known as an analogy.  He was using the basketball example to say that:

winning 3 quarters in basketball and losing VERY BADLY in the 4th quarter leads to losing a basketball game just the same as winning 3 quarters of the year and losing VERY BADLY at the end of the year leads to losing the total yearly sales

The analogy fits perfectly.  And why would you give a "false example" in an argument???  Even if you didn't have 2 seconds to open up another page from this very website, you could have at least tried to give a "true example."

Should not the console that is newer and on it's 3rd year sell more?  That is usually the trend, so it seems the PS3 even failed to outsell the 360 in what is the PS3s "peak" year.

My internet is kinda slow lately so i didn't want to was 30 secnods (not 2) to open a new window. If you are winning 113:61 in last three quarters and you lose 61:15 in last quartet it would be 128:114. i wasn't talking about video game consoles i was talking about basketball. And PS3 is on market for 2 years. 2007-2009. 360 is on market for 4 years. 2005-2009. So people excpect 360 sales are 2 TIMES BIGGER THAN PS3 SALES. BUT THEY ARE NOT. PS3 sales are about 70% of 360 sales.And i don't care about worldwide. What is important to me that all my friends have PS3 and so do I. i am not gonna play games with some guy from Japan. i am gonna play it with my friends. PS3 is selling better in my city than 360 and that's wha tis important to me.
