Microsoft was afraid of Sony endangering their OS/Office sales? Surely you jest!!
That doesn't mean I don't agree that they have accomplished some of their goals for this generation, I just think what we would identify as their goals, are pretty dissimilar.
For the record I'd also disagree that the Playstation brand means nothing...it's not what it was last gen, but it's far from dead.
