Umm, no it didn't. Rich European Jews originally purchased about 80% of the actual land that was given to them by a world wide vote in the UN. Sure, the other 20% was not theirs, but the first 80% was technically legal. Also, the US Jewish lobbying power didn't exist back then. So, that couldn't have been a major influence. It was more to do with racism against Arab/Muslims and feeling really bad about the treatment of Europeans by other Europeans/Russians. Since then it has been a constant wanting for Israelis to increase their borders. Especially after 1970's. |
