What caused it?
The English and prevelant anti-seminism.
If you want to take the long way back anyway.
Shorter way, Palestine deciding to ally with nations and cause a war rather then accepting the UN mandate.
You can't expect the other side to agree to the same treaty you started a war over.
Where do i see it going? One of 3 things
1) No progress.... forever. Until Israel is weak enough for an Arab nation to knock it over... and probably claim it for themselves, or at least making Palestine a puppet only.
2) Or Israel making a deal with the PA as they get weaker and are about to be gotten rid of. Leading to a PA dictatorship.
3) Israel getting weaker, or a radical getting in, and the Palestinians.
Not going to be great for the Palestinians in anycase.
