1) Did they think they can get away with it this time or that the rootkit won't get discover?

3) Did they plan that, as soon as the name of rootkit and malwares get more notorious, computer users would fear that P2P sharing will infect their computer and will get a legitimate copy?

4) Did they plan that they would be able to catch someone and create an example, then through that making the piraters who aren't techno enough to understand or know that there are rootkits hidden in the products fear so then they would stop pirating? (Actually, I'm not techno enough either to understand how rootkits work or that Sony would be able to catch someone with that)

 

But honestly, I wouldnt' be surprise if rumors like the above floating around.

Off-topic: What happened to the "VGchartz...Hacked?" thread? Did the hackers block it?
