The part of me that loved Doom 1 and 2 made me keep playing. It was horrible.

Oh god, I was in that same boat.

 

Also, Armored Core. The entire sereies, in fact, up until this gen when I just stopped caring/didn't have the time for it. Its not bad... just not worth the time I put into it.

My friend and I were hooked on the Project Phantasma for the longest time. We would constantly take the default bots and fight eachother on the sky map (where there are thin beams connected to floating platforms and if you fall, you die).

Fun times those were.

Oh man, the nostalgia that Phantasma brings up.

I remember that there used to be some gaming magazine that had an "armored corner" where they highlighted cool user subbited custom mechs. I used to enter that shit every month up until they quit the article.

Oddly enough, around the same time I becme oddly captivated by Superman 64.
