Patching is a double edged blade.

On one hand, games in the past have been released and only after release bugs found, that had no fix. The game stayed broke. When this happens now at least it can be fixed.

On the other hand, it now allows devs to just push a game out for release date and say "We'll patch the fixes after release" which sometimes takes ages and messes up the game until then.

I don't know which I prefer.

QFT. Neither situation is optimal but I did prefer the days in which the gaming consoles supplemented PC gaming instead of feebly trying to compete with PCs.
