hmm... I also owned a DC (and still own it - it's broken though :(), and I have to say, I loved it as well. Maybe it wasn't the greatest console ever, but there was just a... "special vibe" about it... a feeling that I didn't get from any other console 
Can't even describe exactly what it is that made it so different, but it's really one of my favorite consoles ever.
