MS does not need to target Nintendo at the moment. MS have Sony by the throat and they are not letting go. MS is focusing on competing head to head with Sony in HD console market it is XBox 360 Vs PS3.
Next console generation MS could be facing off against Nintendo for first place. Sony will hopefully still be alive with PS4, next generation, trying to rebuild from PS3 era.

MS can't steal consumer from sony and sony still have 20% on marget share in this generation. Now, MS target to steal consumer form Wii because wii don't have so much consumer loyalty as like Sony, 50% marget share on Wii can change easier than 20% on Sony. In the end of year maybe you will see something with marget share percentage.

Ummm, actually they can easily steal from Sony, not so easily from Nintendo, its called product differentiation, a 360 can easily replace a PS3, a 360 and a PS3 can't replace a Wii, if you want Wii a PS3 or a 360 just won't do, if you want a PS3, well a 360 can easily replace it, since they have such similar capabilities and libraries, Wii is totally different, Nitnendo will keep seeing its marketshare grow this gen, Sony will see it shrink

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
