@Forevercloud: There isn't going to be a WiiHD. WiiHD would most likely kill one of the advantages that Nintendos next generation console has over Wii. Basically if WiiHD would be a peripheral used to upscale Wii games, i could see WiiHD being a remote possibility, but as an internal upgrade it's highly unlikely to happen.

There was an article posted here in the last month or so that had Miyamoto discussing Wii HD and from what was said in the article Nintendo has plans to release a Wii HD at about the same time that the Japanese TV industry primarily switches to using hd signals in 2010 or early 2011.  In the article, I believe Miyamoto is quoted as saying that you do have to keep up with technology.  I believe this Wii HD much like the GBA SP or DS Lite will be the same Wii just with the added ability to output HD signals and will probably put the Wii back at the $250.00 price (possibly following a price cut for the original to come within the next year or so).  I believe Nintendo's next system after Wii HD will be Wii Advance or Super Wii.

Edit:  Since the Wii is doing so well, I don't expect Wii Advance or Super Wii until 2014.  For those that doubt they can keep the Wii going that long just look at how long they kept the original Gameboy going as the top handheld on the market despite the fact the display was in green and black.

Edit 2: http://www.nintendoeverything.com/?p=6119  A link where Miyamoto gives mention of keeping up with Japanese conversion to digital tv the page isn't as attractive imo as the vgchartz presentation of the article.
