I've never played Star Wars Battlefront, but I suppose it's possible since it's the same developer. Was the enemy AI brain dead in SWB also?
As far as I know the demo doesn't have splitscreen.
They're called treebeards! Oh who am I kidding? I don't even like LOTR all that much. That's just the only name that popped into my head when I saw that thing trying to stomp my ass into the ground.
