Is it even possible to buy an SDTV anymore? When people replace their TVs the only option they will have is to buy an HDTV. The same will eventually be the case with DVD players, when BD players come down in price enough retailers will simply stop stocking standard DVD players as all BD players are BC with DVD. The same thing occurred here with VCD, which was far more popular than VHS in many parts of Asia. Stores eventually stopped stocking standard VCD players when DVD players had come down to a similar price as all DVD players sold here are BC with VCD.
