Just so you know your using the Logic of Nintendo and Sega back in the 90's and late 80's. That type of mind set works well for the platform investors but not so well for the software or content providers or licensee of that platform.

Capcom being a perfect example, they would love to provide content for everything just to maximize their profit margin.

That system really is a brutal way of trying to control the market, but already the market is making it's decision... I'll clarify a little, if a game wasn't going to sell, then it wasn't going to sell. A game that flops like Haze flops regardless of the platform it's on. Note that these games flop not just because they are bad games, I'm going to assume we know the reasons and proceed to my point.

This means that if Sony was some how the only platform for console gaming and all the games on the Xbox and the games on the Wii made appearances on the PS3; Haze would still have flopped in terms of attach ratio. The market has been crowded of the FPS genre for a while, Haze isn't the only game to flop either, Socom hasn't done very well dispite it's bundling and massive ad push with he 'official PS3 headset' which was the key reason I purchased the game... to my loss because I still haven't used the thing =( Too bulky and uncomfortable.

Gears of War 2? Well look when it was released, that title wouldn't have flopped anyway, unless they did a stealth release. (No marketing)

The only difference with Wii and the HD twins as far as how software moves, is that Wii software seems to be slow and steady, I'm not certain if it's normal to have so many games stay on the chartz, theirs quite a few of them that are sneaking up to 500k most of them 'don't desearve it' anyway. ;)

The Conduit is a shooter, and if this shooter craze keeps up on the HD consoles then I'm afraid it will only satisfy current Wii owners, which should be around Red Steel numbers and maybe a little up to double. But platform genres do affect each other just indirectly. (They still compete for the same market space the only thing dividing them are the hardware.)

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
