You claim that almost all PS3 and 360 owners also have a Wii, do you have anything to back that up? Also you seem to blame HD consoles for Take-Two's problems, do you also blame them for the problems Take-Two had before HD consoles ever came out? Moving games to the Wii simply isn't going to work if the gamers on that console aren't going to buy them. Do you think EA cancelling all other versions of Madden for example except for the Wii would meet with financial success? Chances are it would be a disaster with another company moving in and taking the bulk of Football game sales that are on HD consoles. The same can be said of Call of Duty. Does it really make sense to you for Activision to move the series from the consoles and PC where it's selling 10-12 million to the one where it averages a half million or less? It simply doesn't make sense. The majority of the audiences for the Wii and 360/PS3 are different and people just need to accept that. The sooner they do the sooner both camps can be happy with the games they have and the ones they're going to get. Carnival Games wouldn't be a million selling juggernaut on HD consoles and the same goes for games like CoD:WaW on the Wii. |
Yes, I do think they would move and buy it on the wii. Madden fans follow the game, its that simple. You make madden, give it the correct rosters updated, and make it the same, minus graphics, on the wii and only sell it there, it will sell as many copies. But, madden cannot do that because of contract. This is the same reason another football game will not come out. This is the NFLs call.
For CoD, I think if it was the only version, it would. The demographics are a bit different, but not by as much as you say. Some wiis are sold to people who would not buy these types of games, just as the ps2 had this same demographic. I believe hardcores have a wii, most of them claim they do but its doing nothing. They would buy these games on wii if they had no other outlet.
