Bottom line. If the Wii wasn't a thread, MS wouldn't even mention them. There would be no need. And if the 360 had quality merits, they would focus on those. But all they can do is sling mud at Nintendo. The Wii is for babies? That's why there are stories of retirement homes getting Wiis for Wii Sports... Now I do agree that a lot of teenagers want FPSs. I grew up with Nintendo. Platformers, RPGs, and Adventure games have been and still are my favorite genras. My brothers are 10+ years younger and they just love FPSs... Halo for hours and hours and hours. I played through Halo single player and thought it was ok, never got what all the hype was about. But the problem that MS is in is that they only make FPS games. That's it, or at least 99.99% of their games... So how many FPS games will people buy, especially if they are all pretty much the same. With Nintendo you get two things. First you get a lot of great games from your favorite franchises. Love em or hate em, you will see a Mario, Metroid, Zelda etc. games on every system, sometimes two main games. Then a bunch of spinoffs. If you don't like those then don't buy them. Second you will get a lot of new IPs, every year. It would be nice to see a list of all the new games companies make, that 1) aren't a sequel, and 2) aren't a cookie cutter game. I would bet that Nintendo is way ahead of any other publisher year after year. EA may be the #1 publisher, but what new IPs do they make year after year? Sony is even worse off then MS. Sony has the highest price point AND they are losing money on each system. At least MS is making money now. And what is Sony best for? RPGs, imo. And those are all 3rd party games. When they go multiplatform, or exclusive to the Wii, Sony will be in a world of hurt. And I think the most important thing is this. If MS and Sony want to fight over the 14-19 year olds that is fine. There are a lot more 5-13 and 20-99 year olds that Nintendo can make the Wii appeal too.
