GTAIV is easily the FFXII of the GTA series. GTAIV and FFXII were both different from their predesessors in their respective series and because of that, have divided opionions among fans. However, if any gamer(s) out there are anything like my brother, you were probably bored of the previous GTAs within 5 mintues while GTAIV engaged you from beginning to end. I thought GTAIV was really good(never finished it). That's probably because I don't have any bias since I never played any of the previous games in the series so I had an easier time accepting the more realistic approach.

Except FF XII moved the series forward (good change), GTAIV moved the series backwards (bad change).

I don't really think GTAIV move the series back as much as it just moved to a different direction.
