It is well known that Israel will retaliate with disproportionate force every time they attack in as a form of deterrence to the thousands of groups who would like to attack Israel. While you may not agree with the tactic it is one of the main reasons Israel is still a sovereign nation, and we haven heard about genocide occurring within a newly conquered Israel.
Now, influential supporters of the Palestinian cause are attacking Israel to incur the disproportionate retaliation as a means to pass their message and propaganda (often using staged photos) through useful idiots like the mainstream media. The only way to stop the rocket attacks is to kill the influential supporters, and these people can not be targeted through the use of aerial bombardment.
