We already know the PS3 and 360 are different devices and we already know there are many different anti-aliasing approaches. It's up to the developers to figure out which approach they deem more (cost and quality) effective.

So entirely contrary to the thread title, it's the developers (and their legacy technology) and has very little to do with Sony.
