I have played RE4 for the Wii and as I've said multiple times I loved it. What I mean by inferior version is that one of two things will happen if RE5 is brought to the Wii:
- Everything is scaled down so much that it looks like a PS1. Remember, this game is being optimized for the 360 with the Wii not in consideration at all. This means it isn't like Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix where the Wii version only has the bad graphics and framerate, but it means that this game has textures, models, and things on screen enough to take full advantage of the 360. If Capcom wants to keep the full gameplay in there, they will have to very much scale down everything A LOT in order to get everything on screen at once. From what I've seen of RE5 so far there are a lot of things on screen, more things on screen than RE4. Models and AI cost a lot and they are going to have to be very cheap in order to get them all on screen. If you really want a game that plays like RE5 and looks like Cruis'n Wii then that's fine, but graphics do matter to some extent and I wouldn't want to play something that looks like the developers took a crap all over the screen.
- In order to get the models to not look like crap they would have to change the gameplay. They would have to change the number of enemies on screen AND change the amount of objects in the levels. The gameplay would be pretty different so the Wii would be considered the casual RE5 with the PS3 and 360 getting the hardcore RE5, the real RE5.
Given the choice most fans would pick having the real experience over the superior control scheme in this case and the game just wouldn't do well. True, the Wii has a large user base but how many Wii owners want to buy a RE game? Now how many of those don't have a 360 or PS3? Probably not enough to make money on the game because those people would want to by the better version.
That is what I mean be inferior. Either case the controls would be just as awesome as in RE4 and that's great, but you're either going to get one with the same gameplay that looks like a PS1 game or one that looks like RE4 but with different scaled down gameplay. In either case RE fans would be screaming outrage and Capcom would get blamed.
