The wii is the console of the year, look at Hannah Montana Wii, it outsold little big planet, and most of the ps3 line up this year.

The public knows that Hannah montana is a better game than ALL OF THE PS3 LIBRARY COMBINED!

Silly Leo J when will you realize more sales does not equal better game :P

Im just passing along the message the wii fans on this site have said countless amount of times.

I'm afraid I will have to remind you that we are talking about a business here. Awards and reviews are a wonderful way to make developers feel good and their fans to feel validated but ultimately they are only truly relevant to the extent they help sales. Something can always be outstanding and still fail.

Beethoven is undoubtedly greater than Mötley Crüe, but Crüe Fest had them lined up in the rain to buy tickets while symphony orchestras pass the hat just to survive. The Maserati Gran Turismo is a wonderful but irrelevant car. At $700,000 each sales are measured in a few hundred/ yr for the US and the manufacturer has broken out the black ink one time in the last two decades. The Honda Civic is considerable less exotic but it is the best selling car in the US and Canada. Was this the year of the Maserati?

You can’t dictate taste, particularly your own. A husband may pitch a fit that his wife spent $50 each on tickets to the ballet but thought nothing about stuffing a few hundred in garters at the local tittybar Friday night. Perhaps the two of them might disagree on the relative value of the two types of terpsichorean talent.

The PS3 can be voted console of the year by every game site, blog and magazine; endorsed by Oprah, and get 100% 10+ Metacritic scores but if it doesn’t start making a profit and sell enough games to hang on to the game developers – then it will fail. And that’s just the way life is in the real world. Game sites can’t make it the year of the PS3, only gamers can and so they haven’t, at least not with their wallets and that is the only vote that really matters in the end.
