This is what happened to me:

I got my Wii, and was amazed by the potential. The character on screen did what I did! In Wii Sports Tennis, when i swung, the character swung. In Red Steel, how I held the controller was how the character on screen held the controller. The pointer was a god send in Resident Evil and Mario Galaxy. HOLY SHIT! I gotta show this to somebody!

After a while, the kinks in the armor began to show. The controller wasn't doing what i was doing most of the time. It just knew when I was moving it, and reacted like I was pressing a button. I'd play a driving game, and it wouldn't respond like I needed it too. I'd bowl a strike in Wii Bowling, but I would be in the kitchen while the console was in the living room. The illusion was shattered.

When it's good, the Wii is good. When it's exposed, the Wii can be very bad. Most newbies don't see the flaws. Gamers who've been around the block are harder to impress, when the novelty wears off. My mom loves the Wii. My kid sister bought one for X-mas. I'm ready to see the next trick. That's my point of view.
