Plasma TVs are cheaper (for a given size) and have a slightly better display for videos.
On the other hand LCD TVs are more robust, smaller and lighter and often have higher resolutions which may be important for playing (less so for video).
Personally I would go with LCD. The image is amazing, I don't want a TV in a size where Plasma has a clear advantage. (too big for my room) and I have carried around my TV often enough to appreciate the LCD advantages.
