There is actually a similar "burn-in" on LCD's but it is rare to happen (mostly if you do not fill the image over the entire screen for prolonged periods of time. Burn-in on new plasmas is just as rare and their is a fix for most burn-in on plasma. Most importantly, is your room bright (sunlight)? Plasma's have glossy screens and have horrible reflection issues and is by far my biggest gripe with plasma sets.
