Hmm, did you play Warhammer Onine when it first hit retail? It was laggy, buggy, horrible to run around and play in. You had to tweak your graphics card settings outside of the game to get it too run right and look good and that wasn't even the half of the issues. But, just after 2 month, a lot of the issues were either being looked into and being fixed or had been fixed. It was almost a whole new experience 2 months later. I hear it's even better now, of course, this is Mythic. Anyways, what my point is; Sony is pulling the same approach, their listening to their user base and are working on fixes and also new ideas to throw into Home. Programing something such as Home or an MMO, isn't easy. Of course, most people will say "How long has it been in production for? Come on it should be way better at this point, etc, etc.". True, but this is something that has never been done on a CONSOLE before. Now for those who think it's so easy, go ahead and try it your self and have Millions of people breathing down your neck for changes, upgrades, content, etc. |
FFXI, a game made for the PS2 first, says hello.
And people keep bringing up how long it has been in production because it's *very* relevant. They are doing nothing new in Home, nothing, yet they take craploads of time and "release" with almost nothing to show for it.
- MMO - not new
- Online marketplace - not new
- Chatroom - not new
- Customizable characters - not new
And don't take that as a knock on Home because it isn't. I'm just saying it is something different together, but broken down it's all things that have been done before and aren't that hard.
