All the third parties backed Sony before this gen started and only slow PS3 sales (and a bit of Microsoft dollars) has forced them to go multiplatform.

In short, it would be a much better situation for sony, possibly profitable, a much worse situation for microsoft, probably never profitable, and a worse situation for nintendo, most definitely profitable but much less so (due to probable price cut to around $200 and fewer sales of hardware and software).
