There is no problem with the age of the characters in JRPG.
There's only a problem for insecure gamers.
This thing of "I've got older so want an older hero that I can project to" is just the insecure thought of a young adult.
I'm past 30 and age of the characters NEVER was a problem to me.
Must be an american thing.
Same "problem" as people fearing to buy Eternal Sonata, for the shame of being seen with a game full of bright colors and young girl on the cover. WRPG don't have this problem with their dark art covers.
WRPG don't have the "problem" of having to play as young (read immature) characters.
JRPG also have the "problem" of having supposedly bad and cringe worthy stories.

The problem is always the same : insecure gamers.

So you're saying it's an insecure American thing if your tastes change as you get older?  Do you enjoy all the same movies you enjoyed as a kid?   Give me a break.
