On the other hand, who knows if they could implement a software-only emulator at some point? Again, it's anyone's guess. There's not much information one can use to make a good prediction AFAIK.

 

 

Are you sure about that? I remember the launch PS3's in the UK only being able to play a few PS2 games due to using software emulation and not having the PS2 chip unlike the NA launch PS3's.
