Depends on what you want.
I grew up playing those daily RPGs on BBSs back in the day all the way through having a LAN party when the Quake beta came out, teaming up with a laser designator and mortaring bases in Tribes, through getting UT2004 and grabbing nodes. Great games all but I am into a more laid back atmosphere now a days and consoles are a much better choice for me.
I had a 5 hour Halo 3-a-thon about 2 days ago where me and a couple of old college buds partied up and chatted. Lounged on my sofa, turned on the tv(saw nothing good had been recorded on the DVR), turned on the XBox, game was up in a couple seconds, saw my buds were online, sent invites, played some Halo. Lots of fun. Lack of mouse and keyboard doesn't bother me because everyone is using the controllers as well. I am proficient enough with them that mouse and keyboard are not missed.
