If you are going to get it strictly for games, that's likely true. However, if you need a PC desktop/notebook for school or work anyway it is possible to do a little careful selection or spend less than the cost of a console in addition to a good school PC and have both. I f your choices are made correctly you will not be upgrading for several years if ever.
