I was under the impression that not all 30gb Zunes were affected, and that infact seems to be what that link says too.
Also, why make parellels to RROD
RROD was a hardware problem. This is a software problem
RROD cost MS 1 billion dollars to fix. This cost a day or two of salary to a team of maybe 30 people who fixed it.
